The Jabiru Suite for flute and cello is the sheet music for cellists and flutists to perform. this suite consists of three movements: The Jabiru the Capybaras and Caimen Sleep Spider Monkey Swing. This piece of chamber music was composed in Brazil on the Pantanal by Laurel Zucker. A Jabiru is a huge, awkward but beautiful stork -like bird that is acrab and fish catcher. The Jabiru beautiful personality is the inspiration for the piece. A capybaras is the largest rodent in the world- four foot tall with big long yellow teeth. A Caimen is a Brazilian crocodile. The Pantanal is many of these creatures in and about the river's edges. the composer, Laurel Zucker, saw the strange site of a huge capybaras sleeping with its head on top of a caimen's sleeping body. The caimen sleep with their mouths wide open. Spider Monkey Swing is a swinging funny piece that imitate the activities of the spider monkey running about in the canapy in the jungle. Read more...
